Hey Saad! So glad I had an effect. I think I was really lucky in that I was always raised to be completely myself. Although its not always comfortable, its genuine. My approach is to embrace what's working, be aware of what's not and try to let it go. It's a lot easier that trying to be something you're just not! And the truth has a way of resonating like nothing else can. And the best part is that you can apply the logic to everything in your life!

Thank you for sharing your mum's words of wisdom! You should write a book about this! That session totally made an impact on me and has got me thinking about the way I carry myself.

Very down-to-earth and realistic advice. Understanding digital should be a collaborative effort within agencies to track cultural movements and identify opportunities. There is no training course that will ever be able to cover everything... this space is ever-changing and impossible to pack into one distinct course. As you said, it takes an attitude change where everyone helps one another learn more in bite-sized pieces.

Great post Leslie. You've got a faithful subscriber in me!

Thanks for chipping in Leslie! Totally agree. And in this case, putting the needs of the consumer first isn't a nice to have, its a gotta have - or else we know what happens? Zero interaction or worse, only negative interaction. If its not relevant to them, you're dead!

Excellent advice, Leslie. Too often businesses jump to the next "bright shiny object" without looking at strategy and objectives.

Putting the needs and wants of the audience FIRST is more important than a business' objective to pitch what they sell.

Good stuff. I think there are also big opptys for agencies to use training as way to inspire staff and turn around morale. It doesn't have to just be a big new business win to reverse an agency's fortunes!

Training can also be used as a differentiator and carrot to get in the best talent.

Thanks Steve! I'm all about squeezing every little opportunity to the max. When you're reduced to presenting anything (but especially creative) over the phone, every little bit of picture painting helps.

LOVE what you're saying with idea #1! Never heard that before, either!

This is the kind of thing that's fun, builds a connection and can let your audience get a sense for you. The teaser approach you mention is also smart, and gets them interested from the very beginning.
